How do you think?

Do you think about one thing at a time?  Do you take things as they come? Do you enjoy the journey?  Or, do you immediately jump to the conclusion because you see how things play out and you have a vision for the future?

I am a jump to the end type of person. I think (maybe know) that I look at things and see things much differently than others. I think it is a blessing and a curse.  I tend to size up situations, look at the key players and calculate the likely outcome.  This tends to happen quickly, makes me good at my job, but can frustrate me in my personal life. Ironically, sporting events are one of the few things where I enjoy the journey.

In my class, for example, people may be milling around, or saying the same thing over and over.  It frustrates me.  I feel like sometimes we're wasting time and need to just get to the conclusion so that we can move on.  Thankfully, others have different personalities and think about things differently. They like to examine every angle, get down into the details.

My brother, I think he enjoys the journey. He is a planner, but more lives in the moment.

I need to continue to remind my self the the future is important but that you can't forget to live today and get the most out of it as possible.

My challenge to you... if you see me looking too much to the end game and into the future, slap me upside the head or something (give me a beer if you have to) and remind me to enjoy life today and not worry about what will happen in the end.

u r very reflective for such a young person. It can serve u well and help u stay centered in your, at times, frantic life. When u r finding yourself impatient, just do some silent observation for amusement purposes and to wile away the time. Everyone will think u r being pensive and diplomatic. .. By the way, the blog I set up months ago is called: "it's the journey, not the distination" - how ironic.
