I was in class this week and someone was trying to sound smarter than they actually are. They used the word "heteronormative". I'm not sure what this word means, I don't remember the context it was used in, but I do know that she made it up. At least to my knowledge. The insertion of this word just derailed the class and no one was paying attention to the substance of what she was saying, rather, they were laughing at the absurdity of it all.
Lesson Learned - When you try to sound pretentious and smart, you really just end up looking stupid. Especially if you start to makeup words. Rather, come down to my level and live a little.
